LEDs are an energy efficient and high performance bulb solution. The technology is evolving and the number of applications is growing. All LEDs require LED Drivers but some LEDs contain an internal driver and don’t need an external one to function. Check your LED’s details to understand their requirements. LEDs that typically require an external driver include tape, cove, and down lights, as well as certain fixtures, panels, and outdoor-rated lights. LED Drivers either convert higher voltage, alternating current to low voltage, direct current or keep the voltage and current flowing through an LED circuit at its rated level.
